Yoga teachings of Bihar School of Yoga, Satyananda Yoga use practices in a traditional way, asanas (poses) to balance the body and mind through the physical body, pranayama (using the breath, expansion of life force) to work on the energy body (equated with Ki or Chi in other systems), Pratyahara practices such as shavasana, yoga nidra and meditation to calm and focus the mind. Tensions, toxins, impurities can be removed with these practices. It also takes a broader outlook by teaching and encouraging yogic lifestyles, not only for renunciates but also for those living in society and lay practitioners.

For those adults 20 & over, who have the background of the Beginner level classes. Those who have been recommended to continue with yoga classes at the Beyond Beginner level by the Satyananda Yoga Center yoga teacher. The basics and foundation practices have been mastered by the individual, who has the building blocks necessary to continue further.
Tuesday 11:30 to 12:30 p.m.
For those adults 20 and over who are new to yoga; or have had a gap in their yoga practice; or have missed out on the basic practices; or who need to manage illnesses, injuries, imbalances, therapy, are convalescing.
